SIMPOSIUM
ORIGIN

The Ibero-American International Symposium on Mine Ventilation (SIVM) originated in 2018, thanks to the initiative of the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Santiago de Chile, with the purpose of bringing together academia, industry, and professionals linked to mine ventilation.
Since then, the event has been held every two years in different host countries, promoting research, technological innovation, and the exchange of experiences among specialists from across the region.
